Percolator Oopsie Turned Into $$

I recently picked up a Corningware percolator at an estate sale. I remembered seeing decent prices for them in completed auctions. Or so I thought. I brought it home and  listed it.

Uh oh. Apparently it was once part of a recall. eBay ended my auction. So what to do?

I noticed some sellers do not sell the pot, just the insides. The pot was the part recalled. The handle came off of some of the earlier models. After that they put screws in them, but eBay won't let you sell any, screw or not. The parts are allowed but do not sell for much. You can bet that behind the scenes the buyers are asking if the seller will ship the pot with the parts.

After poking around I saw that several have sold on Bonanzle, so they must not ban them there. Then I checked Amazon. There were two listed, for $69.95. I needed mine to sell fast. I have stuff everywhere and I want it gone, not waiting around here forever. So I listed mine for $44.99. This made mine look like a bargain next to the others. It sold within 24 hours!!! Item sold for $44.99, Amazon commission was $8.79, less the $3 I paid for it = $33.20.
