The Cat's In The Cradle and The Silver Spoon...

Yesterday it was close to 100 degrees. Yet like all crazy hardcore bargain hunters I went to an estate auction. My youngest declared it too hot to do anything but eat ice cream and swim. He stayed home with Gran. My oldest jumped up went running for the truck. He has discovered the joy of junking. I love spending the quality time with him. I feel like it is teaching him about value as well. We picked up two video game chairs for $9 that I had refused to pay $100 each for last year when they asked for them. He is now fascinated with vintage things and wants to start selling stuff. 





And as I hung up the phone it occurred to me

What awesome finds, I love the pink glass. It's been hot around here too, but never too hot for a good junking trip.
I have that song stuck in my mind now.

Thanks for visiting my site, & the nice words. I love how clear your pictures are! I have always liked that song, & he heard it the other day then asked lots of questions about why the Dad didn't spend time with the son. I hope one day he is proud to be like me but it does get stuck in your head lol.

Gorgeous bowl and glassware. My son has also started to enjoy our thrifting expeditions. I think the promise of "new" toys and books is his main motivation. Haven't quite got to the selling stage though I am actively encouraging him.
