Fleamarket Find - Goodwrench Wall Clock
One of the best things about junking is stumbling onto something that either you collect, or someone in your family collects. At Christmas our stockings are hung with unusual treats - a piece of Jadite for my mom, Wizard of Oz things for my sister, etc. Love it!
My Dad likes old advertising items. His favorites are Coca-Cola & other drink signs and wall thermometers. They are hard to find though, and usually expensive when you do. Because we are bargain hunters it has taken a while for his collection to be this sizeable. The problem with the larger advertising stuff is where to put it. If he were to hang them outside they would soon be missing, plus the weather would damage them. They are too large to go in the house. So they have just been in storage.
A few weeks ago he began hanging them on the wall inside a locked shed. They are secure, and out of the weather. My 9 year old son thinks it is cool and has now decided that shed is a "clubhouse for the men."
Last week my mom and I were at the local fleamarket and she spotted this great BF Goodwrench wall clock for just $6 - & it works great! I didn't see any on eBay currently, but here is one listed at Ioffer for $300! It is on the right in the picture.

That is a very cool collection.
Having grown up at racetracks we tended to pick up any old banners and posters and whatever laying around at the end of the day. We never gave a thought to it having monetary value in our older years.
The men in my family would drool over racetrack stuff!
Hey, now the men's club will know when to end their oh so important meetings!!
I love that your family gives vintage Christmas gifts - that's a perfect Christmas to me!
Thanks for coming to THT
