It is a Griswold #12 Cast Iron Waffle Maker! Woo Hoo! After this I am sure I will go right back to my $10 sales but this was fun to find. The last two on eBay have sold for $495.00 & $345.00. There is a current auction for one that as of this writing is $260 that ends in a couple of days here. I am going to let that one end before I list mine.
Griswold is known all over the world and has always been a hot collectible. It was a family owned operation in Erie, Pennsylvania that began making door hinges originally. From 1865 to 1957 they made outstanding kitchenware. I find skillets for a good price once in a while, but the name is so recognizable that the other items are usually priced way out of my reach. Here are a few neat pieces that recently sold on eBay:
Yours looks even better than the $495 one! Cant wait to hear how you got it looking like that. Ive yet to find Griswold anything...but always watching for it. Great find!!
Yours looks cleaner and nicer than the one on auction right now. I would hope that would bring a better price for something like this, but with antiques sometimes people want them to look old. I hope you get a good amount for yours after seeing what they looked like before!

Wonderful find - that's what keeps us going and looking to the fleas and thrifts! It will be a great auction to watch - nice going!
Oh Wow...what temp did you set the oven to? I have some large cast iron skillets that need some severe TLC.
