Do You Take Best Offers? - Watt Pottery Rooster Mug Update

The morning after I posted my Watt pottery rooster mug on eBay I got a best offer of $350. That is a LOT of money for a coffee cup. But initial research showed that the online value from past sales is $800. The only other one listed was asking $799 too. I couldn't find any "real" sales. I decided to wait a while. This week I got an offer for $400 from the same person that made the $350 offer. I checked again and 2 of them sold on auction last week for $765 for the pair.  The person that won looks to be a reseller, & is the person that offered to buy mine.  Hmm...what to do? Pros & cons time.

Pros:
1.) $400 for a collectible in this economy is CrAzY good.
2.) I have nothing in the cup, it is all profit.
3.) I don't care if they are reselling it for more. I obviously can't - it has been listed for weeks.
4.) That amount of money will buy many other items to sell.
4.) I have a ton of junk fine collectibles around here gathering dust. I need to move inventory faster.

Cons:
1.) NONE

I hollered like that guy on storage wars - YUUUUUUP! Link to sale.

Just a follow up for you as the "person" who made the offers. I am a collector of Watt Pottery and that piece is staying in my private collection. Yes, I do resell some things but more of a buyer than a "reseller". Prices are way off on Watt Pottery so looking at past prices from a few years ago is not a good guage of where things are currently. What I paid was a fair price and more than the other two sold for. :)

I agree that it was a very fair offer. It was a very neat item to find. I kept it for a bit, and enjoyed it. I would LOVE to see a picture or two of your collection, bet it is AWESOME! As for prices...It is sometimes difficult to determine how to price an item and what to expect to realize in the end. Many times "book" value is crazy and unrealized. My blog posts were meant to convey that, not to be offensive. I hope you weren't.
