Who Made This? Item Identification - Let's Help Each Other!

This pretty piece of pottery belongs to Sarah, one of my readers. Here is the lovely email she sent:
Hi, Thanks for sharing all of your finds on your blog and your experience with ebay! I love reading it and have just started selling. I have been enjoying it so far. I got this piece of pottery and would love any knowledge on it you might have. The bottom has writing on it and what I think it says is "pylesz ceramics" or "fylesz ceramics" the letter l could also be an "i", it is hard to tell. Thanks so much, Sarah

Does anyone recognize this pottery? Looking at the wording on the bottom I think it may be a studio piece, although a very good/interesting one. Studio pottery just means it was made by an individual potter, as opposed to a factory/mass produced. It does not mean it is of poor quality etc. That often does affect the value, as most collectors seek well known pieces. I think Sarah has a good eye, it is very interesting. If I am wrong and your recognize this, please post!

If you have an item that you need identified, feel free to email me pictures, measurements, and a description and I will feature you if I can. If I can't help maybe one of my readers can.

I wonder if it's Greek as there is an island called Tilos, and I there are always potteries for the tourist trade!

Is there any chance this is a ceramic by Emile Othon Friesz? He did some ceramic work.

I think its Friesz Ceramics

It's painted by someone named Friesz and it's likely a Holland Mold item off the shelf.
