Awkward Post Alert! - Vintage Nylon Panties
Ok so I have said before that I sell common everyday yard sale stuff most of the time. Underwear is one of the things I have been reluctant to discuss on here. It is a little awkward to shop for at auctions and estate sales. But old ladies seem to ALWAYS have a big old drawer of square nylon panties. They know they aren't made like that anymore so they hang on to them.
If you aren't totally grossed out by the thought of vintage underwear check out this eBay link & hang on to your hat. They are EXPENSIVE. Look at how well they sell! They are often $2-3 for a box of bloomers at estate sales in my little town. Nobody wants to be seen buying used panties so they are fairly easy to find. If you want to give it a go look for well known brands like Vanity Fair, Kayser, Sans Souci, Olga, Vasserette etc. You want to look for nylon, lace, and sheer.
I listed two pair today for $12.99 each and they sold within minutes. This tells me my pricing was way too low. That is ok - I had nothing in them. I have never been brave enough to list them as high as those in the link I posted. I want them to hurry up and sell before one of y'all sees them and tells me you are going to tell my grandma. Nanny may be in her 80's but if she knew I was selling somebody's drawers in front of everybody she would shake her yardstick at me like she did when I was a girl. She never did anything but shake it at us kids but that was enough to get us to get us to behave.

I would have never thought they would sell. Obviously there are some serious grannies perusing the internet too!

Wow, I'm always looking for a way to expand my venue but I'm pretty sure I never would of thought of this. This is thinking outside the box for sure....
There are, um, many things on eBay that sell well in certain circles. Well worn shoes...try doing a search on that...and well worn socks. I cringe, but, well...to each his own. The sellers of these items cater to a particular category of fetish buyers, who are--from what I can gather--mostly male buyers.
I just listed some last night! I always purchase them and if they are New with tags you can get a pretty penny! I would say I get 1/2 male and 1/2 female buyers, but when I purchase something on ebay, it shows my husbands name, so you never know who is purchasing! I know my husband has purchased some strange things for a man! LOL!
LOL. Your post made me laugh. I "rescued" a box of vintage slips and garter belts from the trash when I was helping my aunt clean out an older relative's apartment. I still have the box here, somewhere, waiting for the right time to give it a try on Ebay. Just don't want my Aunt finding out about it...ya know? She wouldn't be happy that I was selling her old friend's unmentionables...
I'm not as bad as my uncle, who took pictures of a casket in a funeral home once. It's just old underwear, people...LOL
