Fun Find: Vintage 1961 Whitman Sewing Cards & Paper Dolls
One of my favorite things to do when listing things is to sort through a big lot where I didn't see every item when I made the offer. I never know what I am going to find! Yesterday I started listing a box of old toys. In today's world of electronics and odd violent cartoon characters it is nice to catch a glimpse of simpler times. Finding these made me want to be little again! I loved sewing cards, & paper dolls. These make me remember what it was like sit in the floor near my Mama's feet and play. Not a care in the world.
It would be fun to decorate a retro-nursery with this sort of thing. They would be cute framed. I can't believe I didn't think of that when my boys were little enough for a nursery! I can't even pronounce all of the characters they play with now. Skylanders & Pokemon, Legos & Star Wars toys etc are what my boys play with. I remember the boys playing with these too in the 70's.
I did show them the box. They thought they were fun to look at. I think so too. Do any of you remember playing with sewing cards & paper dolls?

Thanks for the memory. I had forgotten all about sewing cards. It's a vague but somehow happy memory; I must have been very young.
We used to play with sewing cards at my Grandma's house!
Those are too darn cute for words!
